...of the day and time change or because of the new direction-
Terry Farrrell out, Nancy Travis in? And, do you think Becker will make it to 2003-2004? |

I think it will be because of the day and time change.I think it will make it to 2003-2004 if they keep the plots interesting and funny. What does everyone else think.

Two things:
Terry Farell's Departure AND The Time-Slot and day. CBS was dumb to do that. But lets hope "Bram and Alice" Starring Alfred Molina will get good ratings to get becker up there. I also agree it will go through at least a 6th season. |

Probably the schedule change.
Any time a network cuts a show loose from it's usual time slot, it's a nice way for them to say "You're being put out to pasture." Becker is more than likely going to end this year, so they move it to another night to make room for another show on their popular Monday night lineup. |

i think it will make it past that cuz ted is such a talented actor, and critics made wrote this on a magazine:
What do these five shows have in common?- ally mcbeal.dharma and greg.just shoot me.spin city.will and grace. Becker beats them ALL! woo! |

I don't know. I think it's somewhat possible it could survive into the 2003-2004 season, but everything seems to be going against them as of now.

Like "Becker" getting moved from its comfortable Monday time-slot, like one of its stars leaving, and all the talk about if the series will even get to return for the 2003-2004 season. I'm not criticizing the series; it's not a bad show. It's just that in my perspective, things are going against "Becker."

Though I have no idea how it will affect the ratings, I think that it basically sucks that Becker is now on the same time as the Sopranos. I think it may have to find a large new audience to make up for all those who will watch the Sopranos instead, many of whom may have watched Becker regularly.
Like I said I have no idea how this works with the Nielsen viewers, but I will watch the Sopranos and tape Becker. |

I think that with the new time slot and Nancy Travis replacing Terry Farrel, Becker will be gone before the end of the season
The good shows never last, or get the respect they deserve.

So with Terry leaving the diner probably won't be part of the show.
Shows seem to go downhill when they start messing w/ a good thing. Like the show Jesse, it was great when it revolved around her family and the bar. They changed all that and the show was cancelled. I hope this isn't Becker's fate. |

If Becker is cancelled before the end of the season I hope CBS understands that we are not blind and that we know that they basically killed it for whatever reason.
CBS has a history of abandoning good shows, switching their time slots even though they are doing well, and cancelling them even though there are other shows of theirs that are doing much worse. WKRP in Cincinnati is one glaring example. |
