Even though there's some inconsistencies with the episode, I've cracked up on the episode where Jim tries to teach Margaret to drive.
I think it's SO close to my dad doing the same thing. I was in the car with them (when I was a kid), and my new-driver mom stopped at a busy road. She sat there too long (in my dad's view) waiting for traffic, and he eventually blew he top and stormed out of the passenger side and took over the driving. I'm pretty sure they had some words later on. And, like the episode, my mom took lessons from a professional after that. I also thought it was funny when Bud dressed up in drag to pay Betty's (really his) traffic ticket fine. |

While I liked the show I never thought of it as a laugh-out-lough show but that scene where the car is lurching down the driveway made me laugh out loud.Im assuming they are actually driving the car pretty dangerous if it was on a sound stage considering how much pollution cars produced back then.

It looks like it starts out on the sound stage (and that first scene where they don't even get out of the driveway is probably all on the set) and at some point while backing out in later scenes they transition to on location, because they back out into the obviously-real street.
