Since this is a common talking point I commonly see preached by motivational speakers and financial gurus,I thought to ask this out...
Yes to some extent adversity can lead you to be out there thriving,but it also depends on the type of adversity and the investment you get in return for overcoming said adversity <<>> humans are not built for constant suffering with little to nothing in return.. |

I think that "thriving" is the wrong term. I know what they are trying to say, but they are not taking failure into consideration.
Some people are content sitting on the beach all day and weaving baskets. Some might consider that "failure", while others might consider the contentment to be the ultimate form of success. The most successful person that I ever knew personally, was miserable. Always obsessed with that next horizon. His inability to find contentment is what drove him to success. And I think that is what your sources are getting at. But personally, I Never wanted to be that way. |
