Madderest I'm done with Facebook!

I said Joe Montana is the GOAT.
Some ******* called me stupid.
I told him "go to hell"!
The ******* said "you ARE an idiot because you believe in that"!
I told him "**** you, **** you, ****...you"!
I also told him "if I ever see you, I'll be the last person you see"!

I may even get kicked-off because the latter sounds like a death threat. I even reported him, but...they'll do nothing and I'll be the villain.

Gotta have a thick skin when you make public comments on social media.

I'll bet that I used to spend 6-8 hours per day on Facebook.

Haven't even been there once since 2016. Don't miss it.

I used to post on Facebook often and stopped because way too many mean people. There is a local moms group and several would threaten by stating they were coming over to beat me up. I told them to bring it on because I wouldn't be the one with a broken nose, and of course, the bullies backed off. One good thing though is you truly find out who doesn't really like you.

I never joined FB.

And as I see it, so many forums are just plain rude and mean and stupid.

Don't feed into them. Move on. Find a more peaceful accepting place. FB is notorious from what I hear.

And for the thick skin, decide how much thick skin do you want to use up.

Facebook has become a place where people like to pick fights and provoke people into a response.

Sounds like you were just probably having a bad day and this made things worse. Don't worry my wife has seen a lot worse posts on Facebook.

Oh No

A few months ago I posted some items on Facebook as to what was an ongoing History Of Metal and was discussing the year 1999 in regards to metal and pop culture. The big news that year, one of them, at least, was the Columbine shootings and how Marilyn Manson became erroneously tied in to the shooters' motives and influences. The dillweeds behind the Facebook Censor Squad thought I was somehow "advocating violence" rather than reporting on one of the biggest stories of that year as part of a personal musical documentary. I got Facebook Gulag for an entire month because those idiots were so stupid. Facebook is a bane to our existence as a means to free expression.

It has always fascinated me how people can become so heated over internet debate, that they seriously consider looking up their adversary, and dealing them harm in the real world.

I've run into some real loo-loos over the years, mostly over lightning rod issues you normally wouldn't expect everyone to agree with you any way. But threatening to look up someone's family members? C'mon!

Since they've closed so many mental institutions over the past 60 years, shifting the burden for care onto families. I suspect that far too many home caregivers have found that an internet connection is a convenient diversion for uncle Wally and aunt Ada.

Facebook Nazis suck...many DID blame Marilyn Mansonand violent video games. This isn't new...in the mid-80's people blamed metal music for kids killing themselves.

They think Hell is a giant party...they chose the wrong place...yes, there'll be a party in Hell...but it'll be boring!

I haven't been in there for around a year, and don't miss it much. I think a couple of things really help: keep your posts to friends only, not public, and keep a small circle of friends. If you find some of a friend's posts objectionable to you, un-follow rather than un-friend them. Reason: they know you un-friend them, but don't know you un-follow.

Also explore your profile settings and turn off their ability to track you on other sites. If you don't, they will track you. So, if you look at the LLBean site, you'll get LLBean ads on FB, for example.

One reason I initially got off Fb was that their site uses a huge amount of computer memory, and my old computer with 4 Gb could not handle it.

Nobody asked for advice--I know there are others who know way more about Fb than I do.
