When Beaver said the really bad word

Was he supposed to be having Ms. Landers as a teacher again, or did she simply hear it and take it upon herself to discipline the Beaver even though he wasn't her student at the time.

I don’t recall if Beaver was still in Miss Landers’ class at the time he issued that expletive-deleted in the hallway at the Mayfield Grade School. However, Miss Landers was being the usual buttinsky she was, when she intervened in that confrontation between Beaver and that other smart-@ssed kid.

Over the years, LITB fans have debated just exactly what Beaver angrily exclaimed in reaction to that other kid tripping him.

I think it would have been a great LITB episode if we had seen Beaver, Gilbert, Linda Dennison and the rest of the students watching another episode of “Teen Forum” in class along with Mrs. Rayburn, and a “Star Trek-like” time warp occurred, causing an episode of “The Sopranos” (like the notorious “Pine Barrens” episode) or an airing of “Eddie Murphy Raw” to appear on the portable tv screen. The look of absolute shock on Mrs. Rayburn’s face would be legendary!

And, can you imagine the reaction of June, Ward and Wally at the Cleaver family dinner table, when Beaver began to recite some of the “colorful language” Paulie Walnuts, Christopher Moltisanti and Eddie Murphy employed during that unexpected time warp television transmission?

This was the final episode of season 4, and he was in the fifth grade, which she came right along with the Beaver and the rest of the class, and taught. So she was his teacher in the third thru fifth grade (seasons 2 thru 4).

We've talked about what I'm about to write before, but the real irritating things about this episode are the fact that Miss Landers seemed not to care one iota about the fact that Arthur tripped Beaver and he could have been badly injured--more of a concern than an expletive deleted.

And, wuss Beaver didn't stand up for himself--after cowing to Miss Landers and taking her guff, he should have said, Hey, what about Arthur? Shouldn't he be in trouble for tripping me?

Apparently Beaver skipped a grade over some summer, since just 2 years/seasons later, he was graduating from 8th grade and getting ready to go to Mayfield High, where Wally had gone.
At the same time, after Season 3, I think, Wally repeated a grade, since he was in grade 10 in Season 3 but didn't graduate for 3 more years/seasons. I think Wally should've started in grade 7, since Tony Dow was himself just 12 years old when he started playing Wally. Then he would've spent the show's 6 seasons in grades 7-12.

Yes, Wally should have been in the seventh grade at the beginning. Near the end of season 4 he made a remark about a water fountain the class of '62 was gifting to the school. Although he never explicitly said that was his class, you'd think so. And the timelines from the start would prove it out--he would have been a senior in the 5th season, as the show had him in the eighth grade at the beginning; instead, his grade wasn't mentioned in season 5.

Yes again, Beaver skipped a grade in the show. For most of the fifth season they referred to him being in the sixth grade. Toward the end of season 5 Wally remarked to June that Beaver was going into the eighth grade. He should have been in the third grade when the show started. I guess they never thought about a growth spurt.

Shows would make it easier on themselves if they stuck to kids' real ages and grades.
