^^^ I cry when Shawn says "Goodbye." to Mr. Feeny in the final episode because he says that Mr. Feeny never gave up on him.

God bless you always!!!

If only that touching bond hadn't gotten trashed by 'Girl Meets World'. ..

Shawn seeing Mr. Turner in the hospital gets me every time. He was pretty much a father to Shawn when Chet was gone in Season 3 and was still concerned about Shawn getting on the right path leading up to his accident.

OK, since you asked me I'll explain but, first I'll quote directly from what Shawn said in the Season Seven Finale to Mr. Feeny:

Shawn: You never gave up on me. Never once. I'm not going to forget you. You're the best person I know! (emphasis mine).

So, why do I believe that GMW trashed that bond? Since I soon quickly myself disliking the show in general, I mainly watched the episodes in which Shawn, Mr. Feeny and Minkus appeared in but from that, I couldn't help that the GMW decided to trash the bond (as well as have Shawn's maturity and growth at the end of BMW be sabotaged) for cheep laffs!

In 'Girl Meets Pluto' (2015), when Cory fakes dying JUST to get Shawn to join him in digging up Mr. Feeny's garden for the time capsule. While Shawn rightly gets furious at Cory for pulling that despicable (and unfunny) stunt, he not only doesn't try to insist that, before digging on someone else's land, Cory needs to notify the property owner but he raises zero objections to trespassing or vandalizing the garden of 'the best person I know', but joins Cory, Topanga, Riley and Maya in doing so. THEN when Mr. Feeny catches them doing so, he joins Cory in screaming like 12-year-old girls AND soon after, when his friends' daughter Riley and her friend Maya wave their hands in Mr. Feeny's face before doing their snotty rendition of The Feeny Call, he only looks embarrassed that these girls did that but does NOT attempt to stop them, urge them to knock it off but just stands there and lets them bully this old man that way who had been nothing but these girls' victim AND whom he himself had reaped such great praise for at the end of BMW. Oh, and Shawn (and the others) do not attempt even the slightest apologies for trespassing, vandalism or Riley's and Maya's bullying during the episode itself -or EVER!

Then, in 'Girl Meets Upstate' (2016), when Cory equates Shawn wearing conservative clothes, drinking tea and eating Danish butter cookies as being Feeny-like and Cory goes so far as to sneer at Shawn for 'becoming Feeny's father', Shawn gets into a wrestling match with Cory and seems deeply insulted. One would imagine that if another person had told them that they were like 'the best person I know''s parent, one usually would be flattered NOT insulted but Shawn sure didn't take it that way.

Things improved a little in 'Girl Meets I Do( 2016) in which Shawn somehow got Mr. Feeny to perform his wedding to Katy but even then he and the rest of the wedding party left Mr. Feeny on Cory+ Topanga's apartment building roof after the ceremony and did NOT invite him to join the Reception.

Lastly, in 'Girl Meets Goodbye' (2017),in spite of Mr. Feeny being in Cory+Topanga's living room while he and Mr. Feeny individually gave their inputs about whether or not Topanga should relocate her nuclear family to London, Shawn didn't exchange dialogue or even nonverbal expressions to the person who he said he'd 'never forget' and was the 'best person I know!'

So, all the above actions and nonactions GMW had Shawn do re Mr. Feeny got me to think that GMW needlessly trashed the bond between the troubled youth who'd grown and the mentor who'd kept him on a good course- and one reason I LOATHE GMW! Bad enough they retrotrashed Shawn's bond with Angela then had all but Shawn treat her like a toxic threat but IMO, it was WORSE that they mistreated Mr. Feeny that way- especially for cheep laffs!
