The Dick Van Dyke Show aired five seasons on CBS from 1961-1966. Starring Dick Van Dyke as Rob Petrie, a married man who was head writer for The Alan Brady Show. Rose Marie (Sally Rogers) was originally intended to be the female lead. But Mary Tyler Moore's popularity as Rob's wife Laura changed that plan. Morey Amsterdam played Buddy Sorrell, Rob and Sally's co-worker. Their boss was Mel Cooley, played by Richard Deacon. Also starring the show's creator Carl Reiner as Alan Brady, Jerry Paris and Ann Morgan Guilbert as neighbors Jerry and Millie Helper, and Larry Matthews as Rob and Laura's son Ritchie. CBS wanted more than five seasons, but Dick Van Dyke decided to end while it was creatively on top.

Who's the Boss? starred Tony Danza as the male housekeeper to a woman (Judith Light). Tony Micelli's daughter Samantha was played by Alyssa Milano. Angela Bower's mother Mona was played by Katherine Helmond, and Angela's son Jonathan was played by Danny Pintauro. Who's the Boss? aired 8 seasons on ABC from 1984-1992.
