Question House Layout

This may sound crazy, but has anyone ever tried to figure out the layout of the Owen's house? Where are the bedrooms? Where do the stairs lead to? I've noticed three flights of stairs so far. People are always coming in through the kitchen door. Where does that lead to? It looks like a nice house. I'm still trying to piece it all together.

It'd be nice to see an official layout, till then, we have to speculate.

Where do you get 3 flights of stairs? There was the one to the left behind the clock, which led to the kids' and Mr. B's rooms, and the one to the right, which went up to George and Marsha's room. I think that then G&M's room connects to a hallway either above the living room where the couch and stuff is to meet up with the other bedrooms at the other end, or else that the other rooms go straight back to the rear and then up.

As for the kitchen door, I think it just leads to outside, and the garage would be right nearby.

Hope I've helped some, lol.

And yeah, it is a nice house---one of my favorite sitcom sets!

The first flight of stairs goes up behind the chimney to George and Marsha's room.
In the episode where Kevin brings home a drunk girl who throws up on Marsha's pillow, you can see that the stairs turn left behind the chimney.
It also continues, up above the kitchen, presumably to the attic. On the ceiling, in the living room, you can see where the stairs lead up to the right of the chimney.
Then you have the flight that leads to the kid's bedrooms.
In the episode where Kevin and George armwrestle, a flight of stairs going up can be seen to the right of Kevin's room. When Mr. Belvedere is standing in front of Kevin's room, you can see these stairs. That's three flights, but there's one more.
In the episode where Wendy gets married, the men are having a bachelor party in the basement. Where do these flight of stairs start from? Hmmm.

Now, if you look at the windows in the bedrooms, try to place the bedrooms in the proper perspective.
Heather's room is right across the hall from Kevin's. Her room is also right next to the bathroom.
Wesley's room is to the right of Heather's room and across from the flight of stairs next to Kevin's room. It's recessed.
Where is Mr. Belvedere's room?
In the episode where Kevin comes home from a Latvian dance date, he walks by Mr. Belvedere's bedroom. This room is on the left hand side of the hall. Kevin's room is on the right hand side of the hall. I can't place Mr. Belvedere's room. As soon as you enter his bedroom, there's a window to the immediate right. This is very frustrating.

Great post, I've always told people if I could build my own house I'd make it like one I saw on tv. Be cool to live in a house you grew up watching, and I'd pick the Belvey set.

Maybe I'll sit down and do a layout like you see from above when you look at floorplans for apartments or houses and scan it to a post here. I'm a Belvey buff and have 8 tapes of eps. so, like you guys, know the set pretty well.

Yeah, it seems the stairs to G&M's goes around a corner to the left. Theres an ep where Wes scares George with a mousemask while standing in the doorway. Behind him you see a wall, where I would guess the stairs end.

The back porch appears to have two entrances to the house, one to the kitchen, and one to living room right near the arm chair. They seem to have a deck that looks into the woods. In the ep. where Wes buries his hampster all you see are leaves and dirt, like there is no proper backyard. That same ep has them talking about putting in a pool, so there must be room beyond the porch. Plus there are visual cues that the Huffnagles are across the way from that porch.

The kids rooms are tricky. Very few scenes ever took place in the hallways. You'd need the overhead floorplan to be able to get into detail.

There was that other entrance to the kitchen which is after you pass the garage. Walking along the path sometimes you'd see them pass it and continue pass the kitchen window and into the door.

Whew, ok I'm done

Default House model

In the episode where George is thinking about putting an apartment above the garage, Mr. Belvedere brings out a model of a house. I wonder if this could possibly be a model of the Owen's house. I'm still trying to figure out the layout of the house. It seems like a small houses, but the model looked like a castle.
