Sad From Hither to Thither We Skip

You know I forgot Bachelor Father had already started this past Monday. But remembered today (after it was too late to see today's shows) but I did look into the schedule for the coming days. I was sorry to see that they are running the show all out of order. No rhyme or reason to how they're showing it. Now all the rest of Antenna TV's shows they show in order of broadcast, Hazel, Dennis, Bewitched etc. but NOT Bachelor Father, the one show I've never seen broadcast in order. When RTV showed it years ago it was always shown out of order then too. I was hoping since shows today are for the most part shown in order that Antenna would for the first time show Bachelor Father in order. Very disappointed, maybe after a while they'll start running the show in order. Till then, I'm not all that hot to start recording the shows all over again. If I want to watch them all out of order I can watch my DVDs of RTV's broadcasts.

Come on Antenna TV, you show everything else in order, get with it and start showing Bachelor Father in order too. Huh, pretty please?

On weekday mornings when Antenna TV is running Bachelor Father, I'm usually watching The Price Is Right on CBS but maybe I'll take a break from The Price Is Right for awhile to watch Bachelor Father. I could also choose to continue watching The Price Is Right and DVR Bachelor Father to watch later.

The only logical reason I can think of as to why Antenna doesn't show the episodes in order is because they don't have access to all the episodes so they run the ones they have in a sort of haphazard order.

Default New Time For Bach. Daddy

Well, good news, if you missed it on account of Price Is Right, now you don't have to miss it anymore. I just discovered today that Antenna TV is now running Bachelor Father 2 episodes a day at 8 a.m. It's not on at 11 anymore. I don't know why they changed the schedule so fast for Bach. Daddy but it 8 am now.

If they ever start showing this show in broadcast order I would record it again. For now I watch one Bachelor Father episode a week every Friday thanks to my RTV recordings I made 10 years or more ago. And while they ran the show completely out of order too at least they ran one complete episode a day, most of the time uncut, and with the end credits in tact and not shrunken and muted for the next show's opening credits on the schedule. I hate that Antenna destroys the closing credits like that, I want to hear the music and see the credits. GET TV is even worse as they don't even run the original closing credits at all they just superimpose the credits shrunken beyond reading capability and run them while the end of a program is still going on, dialog and all, the show ain't quite over and they are squeeizing the credits at the bottom of the screen while the show is having it's last minute of program.

I say restore the end credits the way they are supposed to be seen. Here, here!

Perhaps Bachelor Father was relocated on the schedule so they could pair it up with Burns & Allen and Jack Benny.

I agree it's terrible what some of these retro channels do by messing with the credits of shows and it should not be allowed.

Thankfully, many of the classic shows are available on DVD and those have the credits intact just like it's supposed to be.

Talking DVDs, the Only Way To Fly, I mean Watch

That's the only way I watch my classic TV shows always on DVD, never live off of TV's current broadcast. First off I can't stand 9 to 10 minutes of commercials for every 1/2 hour and the commercials are the worst ever. Whatever happened to Royal pudding and Joy dish washing liquid commercials? Why do we have to have 1/2 dead elephants lumbering about or freak kids and beaten dog commerials every other minute on what is supposed to be happy shows. Talk about your Debbie Downers, what a way to RUIN a good show with those Gosh awful 5 minute ads. All the more reason I NEVER watch live TV broadcasts. Long live the DVD, it's a Gosh send.

I can just hear these guys in the board room: "Who needs these credits? All those people are dead anyway."

It seems that Antenna TV started showing Bachelor Father in order now, or am I just so new to the series most episodes I haven't seen?
