Very interesting information. It's a shames that the history of the production of Bewitched is mostly lost to time. It must have been a fascinating behind the scenes time. Lila Garrett did mention in a podcast that the writers deliberately changed story structure (by reducing the romance angle between Samantha and Darrin0 when York left.

I rather see the show having three distinct "eras" with very different tones:

1. The Black and White seasons
2. The color York Years
3. The Dick Sargent years

All are to some degree wildly different in tone.

One of the most fascinating (to me) pieces of "Bewitched" history to read would've been the show bibles through the years and how they changed.

My guess is Bill Asher's widow has them.
