Default Why did the Bunkers never visit the Jeffersons in Manhattan?

I know George hated Archie but Edith loved Louise and vice-versa. I would have love to see Ralph ask Archie for a tip and Archie give him a snide comeback.

I would have loved to see Mr. Bently and Archie interact. That would have been comedy gold.

Good question!

You'd think they'd have invited at least Edith to their own vow renewal or Lionel's Wedding (and the Bunkers WERE there for his first engagement party).
Perhaps Mother Jefferson told George and Louise she was NEVER going to put up with Archie again after he called her a mammy!

Because Edith and Louise was friends not George and Archie. And Edith wasnt going to travel to the upper east side of Manhattan by herself so that's why the Bunkers was never there. The Jeffersons returned to Queens but it was never vice versa

All 3 Jeffersons/All in the Family Crossovers were All in the Family eps

Makes Makes his Move-season 5
Mike's New Job-season 8
Family next door-season 9

Someone like Archie most likely wouldn't visit someone like George. It would hurt Archie's pride too much to see George providing more for his family and being more affluent than him. A solo trip for Edith would have been a blow to Archie's pride too because when she would have returned home, Archie would have had to hear about how well George was doing. Out of sight, out of mind.

Both George and Louise liked Edith... George and Edith seemed to be good with each other, so it would have been nice to see them there. Would have also been nice if Henry showed up a time or 2 any way.

But yeah I could see Archie and Florence having conflict for sure... it might actually be a time when Archie and George would be on the same side lol

I am glad they didn't, can't stand Archie and Meathead and don't watch All in the Family anymore.

It would made sense for Edith, Mike and Gloria to be there because of Louise and Lionel but not Archie. Do you really think archie would have wanted to see the Jeffersons luxury apt? lol

The Bunkers never visited Maude and they were a lot closer in relationship and distance.

They had three crossovers after the Jeffersons moved and none of them was Jefferson episodes. All episodes of all in the family which made no sense why they could have just 1 episode of the Jeffersons with Bunkers as Guests
