Default This question is for "Everyone"

When I say "Everyone". I mean "Everyone". So please Mr. Moderator post this message on the General Discussion Board. I want this message to headline on the General Sitcoms Question and Discussion board. Is that to much to ask?

What do you think of the TV show "Friends"? I don't hate it or like it. But here are my opinions about the show. First I don't like the fact it does not include many minorites. Speaking as a New Yorker, I am proud to live in one of the most racial and cultural diverst cities in the world. The show gives New York a bad name.

Also Friends is a poormans "Seinfeld". Like Seinfeld the show tried to reinvent the english language, has bizzare contests.

And the show is very unoriginal. The beginning of the second season with Ross, Rachel and Julie. That is a rippoff of the beginning of the fourth season of "A Different World".

I've never watched it. I've never had any desire to watch it. And I think that the amount of money the stars get is obscene.

I'm tired of this endless argument over Friends. Either you like the show, or you don't. No TV show is for everyone. I don't understand why some people here can't just accept the fact that not everyone likes Friends.

It's a great show!! I do agree, that there are not many non-whites on the show which I would understand if they lived in Oklahoma or Montana somewhere, but it's New York City! But even still, I love the show!

I really tired of these kinds of thread but I'll post anyhow. This is the 3rd thread I have seen here that is about Friends.

I think Friends is a good show, it may not be a laugh out loud type of show, but it is pretty good.

I hate the fact that alot of you guys on this site don't like the show. But the fact is your a minority. Cause the show has been in the top 10 its whole run and in the top 3 the whole season. How many shows have been able to do that? Not many.

I personally don't care about the whole minority thing. I don't watch a show because someone is the same race as me. I'm asian and white and it doesn't matter to me the race of a character on a show.

I agree wholeheartedly. Who cares who's on the show? The quality of a sitcom should not be determined by how many races are represented on it. I can enjoy an all black sitcom cast like Good Times or What's Happening just as much as an all white sitcom like Cheers or Taxi.

I agree with most people on this thread that the anti-Friends threads are getting really old and tired. Friends is a hit and has been for a long time. That's probably not going to change. The thing that I notice most about Friends haters is that they get so angry talking about the show. DON'T WATCH IT!!! DON'T TALK ABOUT IT!!! DON'T THINK ABOUT IT!!! You're not going to change anybody's opinion of it. THANK YOU!

I totally agree with you...I like the show friends because I enjoy it and think its funny..thats why I like it..we could do this for every single sitcom out there...and say "why does everyone like this show?" "why don't you like this show?"...but we should just let people watch what they like and don't watch what they don't like...and leave it at that..

Thumbs down

Personally, I don't really care for friends. Sure I think the actors are very talented, but it just isnt a show that makes me laugh. Yes, I have seen a few episodes but I just can never get sucked into it. I jsut can't see why so many people love it so darn much.

Enough said.

Definetly. I agree. But to me if you want to watch a show like Friends go right ahead!

We all have different taste in shows. That's just it. If you don't like Friends I'm not gonna hate you for it. It's just a tv show.

I think unless you've really bothered to watch a show that you
shouldn't really bother with a comment. It's always best to at least
see 3 or 4 episodes before you frame an opinion.
