Default Mindy talks about the Lost Girls (November 2021) on "You Might Know Her From" Podcast

There was a portion of Mindy's early 2021 interview on "You Might Know Her From" podcast that apparently got left on the cutting room floor. This part was strangely appended to the November 23rd podcast episode... almost a year after the rest of the interview was released. I have no idea why it took almost a year for this snippet to be unearthed, and it's only two minutes long, but it's pretty cool. (Language warning).

The podcast hosts give us a nice shout-out and talk briefly about the Lost Girls. Here is the link:

https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcas...=1000504578354

It's the November 23rd podcast, and only the last two minutes are relevant to this forum; from about 33 minutes into the podcast.

Here is the correct link to where Mindy mentions the lost girls. Of course, Mindy saw Julie Anne Haddock Becker just this past Tuesday at the Norman Lear Live in Front of a Studio Audience.

Some of these podcasters don't get why the Lost Girls have so many fans.

She sang backup on Michael Jackson's PYT?? She refuses to say whether or not she's godmother to Brad Pitt's kids?? Interesting!

I was thrown by Retro's link so now let me try 80s Dude's link to find Lost Girl material, lol...

Wow, they really did call them "Lost Girls"! Awesome! It sounds like they referenced us indirectly!

This is the same podcast that had that fantastic episode with Nancy McKeon. I highly recommend it.

*SPOILERS*

Aww, she had coffee with Julie Pie! She's DMed on Instagram with Julie Anne, and Molly, and (Felice)!

She said Natalie and Tootie weren't even a thing in S1, but they were.

She said Molly's major movie career was the best "F you!" ever!

Ooooo, the male co-host almost got in trouble when she said, "Why would I be a jerk??"

She said they all handled it so beautifully with the best attitude, but apparently she hasn't watched the documentaries that mention Molly and apparently she didn't see Molly's 1986 magazine interview! lol

Good heads up, Retro!

I have no problem getting to the podcast from my link; just click "Listen on Apple Podcasts" and choose the November 23rd date.

...Which pretty much confirms she's godmother to Brangelina's kids. Why else refuse to answer?

Yup!

Yep, it was good one! And the original reference to "Cloris and Charlotte weren't friends" kerfuffle.

Yes! Coffee with Julie Pie! And social media interactions with the other LGs!

Yeah, clearly they were besties even in Season 1.They were "soul sisters" with the same IQ! Mindy has just forgotten that.

YEP! And of course, she is right... which is why I think Warren Littlefield gets so defensive.

Yeah, I was glad the female co-host jumped in there to smooth things over. I think he just meant "You still see your old friends; you haven't abandoned them, unlike some in Hollywood might."

They did have great attitudes (well, except for Molly, but she's better, now), and it's cool to hear Mindy acknowledge that.

Buuuuuut.... she says they did two episodes. It was eight! She's pulling a Reverse Littlefield!

Somehow, I get the feeling these ladies aren't watching the DVDs as often as we do!

True. But Mindy sets them straight. When podcaster Damian says there's an online community of obsessed fans, Mindy says, "Rightly so!"

Natalie and Tootie weren't really a thing in Season 1. We can see it because we know the characters but based on that first season, it could have been any of them with anybody else. Mindy and Kim could be called a thing in Season 1 but the audience wouldn't see that. The "soul sisters" line didn't require much acting.

More amusing is that when they're covering who stayed and went, they're using everybody's real names, but Mindy says "I knew Blair." Not "Lisa"?

I must respectfully disagree, Chris. Tootie and Natalie were definitely a thing in Season One: when Tootie decides to go into the salon business, it is with Natalie, and when Tootie's father threatens to take Tootie out of Eastland, the only farewell gift given to Tootie is a gift from Natalie: Natalie's wig.

When Tootie plays checkers, it is with Natalie. When Tootie goes to the Head Shop and buys bongs, it is with Natalie. Interestingly, they do not buy bongs for Molly and Cindy: just for themselves and Mrs. Garrett.

Of course, these things are open to interpretation, and every viewer may feel differently. Certainly Natalie and Tootie feel more like besties after the Cast Purge, simply because there was almost no one else to talk to, but it's clear they hang out together a lot, and they even appear to be roommates during the first season: we see Tootie's skates in Natalie's bedroom scene in "Adoption".

Don't forget also in "Running" where Natalie's leaning in on Tootie who's helping her into the gym after all that running. Yeah, I still get the sense they were gravitating to each other as season 1 went on.

Good point. Also, the eavesdropping on Justin Branch and Prototype Monica, as well as the gossiping to Sue Ann about it afterwards.

I can't think of any moments where Tootie picks Cindy over Natalie, or Natalie picks Molly over Tootie. But there are plenty of moments where "Nat and Toot" are thick as thieves!

But interestingly, Molly chums with Natalie to play with the Ouija board, and they're also sharing the same table in that "mercurial girls' room" upstairs working on homework in I.Q.
