I had no idea he had been in poor health for a few years. This is very sad. I was obsessed with the Monkees when I was a kid. May he RIP.

Here's an interesting fact about Michael Nesmith that you may find surprising to know. Michael's mother Bessie is the inventor of Liquid Paper which is still used today. My aunt used to like The Monkees because they were cool. I wonder if METV will do something in honor of Michael Nesmith too?

So sad to hear. Growing up while everyone was into The Beatles, my group was The Monkees. Micky was my guy. I have been to 2 of 3 of their concerts. I had a blast. Rest in peace Michael.

Rock in peace, Michael Nesmith. Which means only Mickey Dolenz is left. I remember them being a big part of my childhood back in the mid-60's.

Next weekend Decades channel is having a weekend binge/ marathon of the Monkees in honor of Michael Nesmith !

Nesmith was the most talented member of The Monkees.

Not only did he write "Different Drum" which became a hit for Linda Ronstadt...but he had a top-40 song named "Joanne".
