Question Restaurant questions I have for Restaurant staff/ex staff members...🤔

In my "Tips on how to save money at Restaurants and Fast Food Places, some of the tips I gave were actually based on theory.

People who are Restaurant Staff or ex Restaurant Staff, I have a couple of questions I am curious about.

Can you REALLY go to Red Lobster and order just a soda for about $3 and STILL get the Unlimited cheddar biscuits? That kind of seems to good to be true although Red Lobster is known for giving free cheddar biscuits with every order.

Can you split the Olive Garden Unlimited breadsticks, soup or salad with a Friend for about $7, say your Friend eats breadsticks while you eat soup and then you switch it to you eat breadsticks while your Friend eats soup? This also seems to good to be true but in theory it should work..

LOL, I have a friend who likes to go to the all you can eat buffet at KFC, and they have a "no carry out" policy on buffet items clearly posted. But she orders a super sized drink, and just before leaving crams 4-5 breasts into her drink cup, puts the lid back on with straw, and acts like she is sipping on the straw as she is walking out.

I think in her case, and yours, one must ask "of everyone did that, would the restaurant stay in business?

I don't know any KFC places that do All you can eat Buffets. About the soda cup trick, some people have asked for courtesy cups of water, drink the water and then steal soda from the self serve soda dispenser. I don't know how she is able to put 4-5 chicken breasts in a KFC cup however. About "No carry out," buffet rules, a guy said that Security damn near tackled him for eating a fruit that was in his hands as he was walking out the door and he was SHOCKED!

We have 2 out of about 9 KFC locations here that do the buffet. I used to go often back when they still had the grilled breasts.KFC's side orders are pretty good too. "All you can eat" coleslaw and taters and gravy are almost worth the cost of admission all by themselves.

As far as the cup goes, this gal had her routine down pretty good. She could debone a breast with her two thumbs I think she gave it a lot of premeditation.

FWIW, I've had several friends over the years who worked food service, and they all shared this common belief that "stand out" customers deserve food tampering.

So, if the waitress feels she is being unduely tasked in bringing you endless breadsticks for your $3 tab, I would be looking at those bread sticks very carefully.

Hmm. I thought, "Unlimited cheddar biscuits for $3 is too good to be true." MAYBE one basket of cheddar biscuits wouldn't be bad, but say 5 baskets of cheddar biscuits... On a $3 tab? Uh.

Speaking of free cheddar biscuits, I went to Red Lobster earlier this year and had mozzarella cheese sticks, coconut shrimp, a Hurricane drink and the bill was about $35 including tax and tip, and I got the free cheddar biscuits. But paying about $35 and getting the free cheddar biscuitss a lot different than paying say $5 and getting free cheddar biscuits.

I looked up,"Can you split the $7 Unlimited Soup or salad with breadsticks with a Friend at Olive Garden? On Quora, a Restaurant Staff Member was like,"You cannot split the $7 unlimited soup or salad with breadsticks with a Friend. You may not think that splitting the $7 unlimited deal with a Friend is a big deal, but if 2 or more People eat on one $7 bill, we lose out on $7 for each person. Soon it could be a Family of 5 eating on one $7 bill. This should be $35, but it ends up being $7 for a family of 5. It's a $28 loss and could add up extremely quickly if say 10 Families of 5 people all eat on one $7 bill. That would only be a $70 for 50 people who ate, when it REALLY should be $350. That would be a $280 loss. We charge each diner the $7, and don't allow 2 or more people to eat on one $7 bill."
