Just to let you all know, I heard that HH was rated one of the top worst shows in TV history. Also up there was Jerry Springfield Show, and Barney! Well I'm not surprised. That show (HH) was not only an insult to war heroes, but to Germans as well. That's my opinion.

And it's my opinion that this show in no way deserved to be on the list.

The final season had some of the best plots in its entire run. In the final season Klink painted the wind and was convinced that he was a great painter. I believe the Byron Buckles episode where Schultz had the role of Klink and Klink was demoted to play the role of Schultz (otherwise, there is no picture) was during the final season. The episode where Shultz thought he was recording a song for Newkirk's Hollywood uncle and Klink recorded with his violin string quartet was during the final year. HH was getting better as the seasons rolled along. The show was not out of ideas and probably could have remained strong another year or two. The people who decided to put HH on the airwaves must have been brave knowing that they would be criticized by many people. However, HH proved to be a show that deserves to rank in the top 10 and its popularity in reruns is proof that the people who put it on the CBS schedule made the right decision.

Hogan's Heroes ran for six years and Bob Crane, aka. Col.Hogan was nominated twice for an Emmy. I find it one of the funniest sitcoms ever and yes I am fully aware of the real history of WWII.

Although I do not get the Hallmark channel I hope the posts to this board pick up after the show starts its run on November 4. Even though I I've seen each episode many times and there were many other more productive things I could have done with that time it was a great show to watch. My only complaint with shows in rerun status is that the channel must cut out parts of each episode to make room for the extra commercials and keep it within the 30 time period. If there was a way to show the entire episode uncut then it would be a great thing. Perhaps lengthening the time period to 45 minutes and fill the extra minutes with short bits from "The Best of Carson" or other show would be a popular idea. When they cut HH they usually cut out some extremely funny lines. These lines may not be important to the plot but they are what makes the show as great as it was.

I'm not sure but I don't think it affects Canadian broadcasts. I do know that unlike the U.S. there is a federal law that limits on how many commercials could be presented in a hour.
