I Dream of Jeannie aired 5 seasons on NBC from 1965-1970 and has gotten constant comparisons to Bewitched. Unlike Bewitched though, I Dream of Jeannie never jumped the shark with a major lead actor recast. Barbara Eden starred as Jeannie. She was discovered in a bottle by Captain Anthony/Tony Nelson (Larry Hagman), who became her master and later in season 1 was promoted to Major Nelson. Bill Daily was Tony's best friend Captain/Major Roger Healey, who was jealous of the powers he had with his new genie. Hayden Rorke was their boss at NASA Dr. Anthony Bellows. He was often finding strange things going on, but anytime he tried to tell the top brass ended up looking bad.

Before Marlo Thomas became St. Jude's spokesperson, she starred as single young lady Ann Marie, who moved to the big city of New York to make it on her own. That Girl aired 5 seasons on ABC from 1966-1971. Ted Bessell played Ann's boyfriend Donald Hollinger. They became engaged in the final season, but not married as Marlo Thomas did not want their characters to be married on the show. Lew Parker recurred as Ann's overprotective father Lou Marie.
