Do you think Pearl would have been the "Mrs Drysdale" of the Hills? Her house was obviously a cut way above Jed's cabin plus she always wanted to get into the high-society sector of B.Hills, unlike the rest of the family who was content with a modest life; I always thought her husband must have had money and left her pretty well off

I would say she was. In the pilot she immediatly knew the value of "million dollars" + the house we saw was a good size AND she owned a truck!

By that it makes me wonder if Pearl would have ever gotten to the point to which Mrs. Drysdale would have accepted her... Pearl, at least, wanted to assimilate and fit in, I wonder if Mrs. Drysdale would have found favor in her because of that? |

I'd say Pearl was. .. comfortable by Hillbilly standards (and maybe wanted to stay that way by having her bottomless pit Jethro move in to 'help' the others) but I seriously doubt Mrs. Drysdale would have EVER had any use for Pearl (and likely had no use for anyone in Californie not from Beverly, Bel Aire, Nob Hill or Palm Springs) .
Ironically enough, the whole cast adored her performer Harriet MacGibbon while, at best, barely tolerated Raymond Bailey who portrayed Mr. Drysdale so it seems SHE was the one who was genuinely friendly offcamera while Mr. Bailey evidently was not. |

I heard Raymond Bailey was very hard to work with..that he would often throw child like tantrums and storm off the set |
