What was the name of Andy Taylor's neighbor that Opie said feeds him grits and prunes?

I was just thinking about how we rarely see any close neighbors to the Taylors, like people next door or across the street are hardly mentioned or seen, if at all.

Plenty of friends but they all seem to live on other streets or neighborhoods... anyone have any examples I'm not remembering?

Did Clara live next to the Taylors? She seemed to drop in frequently.

In the flower or rose contest episode, there's a busy body lady listening on the backside of the fence while Aunt Bee and Andy make plans for her prized rose. And then Andy loudly reveals that the lady neighbor is a spy for Aunt Clara.

I remember that episode, but couldn't remember if the lady actually lived next door.

If so, she'd be living in the *Aunt Pittipat" house, which also doubled for the haunted house (which in the story wasn't located next door to Andy).

In the episode where Opie's piano lessons conflicted with his football practice, there was a neighbor lady played by Maudie Prickett.

The Taylors' neighbors were like doctors in Mayberry--there were several different ones.

That new doctor, played by William Christopher, was only on once and took out Opie's tonsils. Then when Goober was injured and was bedridden at Andy's, the doctor was some old white-haired guy.

I seem to recall someone living in the yellow house across the street from the Andy Taylor house.

It was either on a color episode of TAGS or another Desilu show.

Anyone remember this?
