Default Halloween is here!

Halloween has arrived!

Should be better than last year. Forecast where I live is mostly sunny and about 74 degrees.

Here are some recent photos of yard haunts in my area.

Yes, no rain. That is what counts most. It was only 70 degrees here today which is not bad. Last Halloween, it was an incredible 95 degrees!

Did you decorate your yard and house like you've done in the past?

No, because I don't own the house anymore. Still live in it but don't own it.

So I drove to a nearby neighborhood of which many houses have yard displays. I was there around the "peak" time for trick-or-treaters (7 pm). Very busy! The residents ran out of candy and some had over 1,500 pieces!

It was great to see so many kids out celebrating Halloween. Making up for last year, no doubt.

Great pictures. We had about 25 kids. Down from last year but still good.

I didn't do much for Halloween. We went out to eat at Longhorn Steakhouse for lunch and watched the football game on TV.

This was the second year in a row that I didn't give out candy because there aren't many children on our street anymore.

Sorry you didn't get to decorate, maybe you can in the future. I know it's a lot of work but it's still kind of fun. Not many people in our area decorate, a few put out pumpkins & orange & yellow mums. We used to decorate when my son was young but it got to be too much work.

I sat outside with a couple of boxes of chocolates (Twix, Reese's) for a few hours around mid-afternoon. Some neighbors came by and talked with me outside.

Mostly the younger kids in my area came over when they were heading back home from trick-or-treating with their parents.
