SO user Icecream has a poll here. Only takes a second to vote for your favorite, whichever show that might be.

You were wondering when this poll would come out? What do the two shows have in common?

(I almost said, "other than having a housekeeper?", but Mrs. Garrett was never a hk on FOL)

Also: Why is this other show getting any votes?

Yep. Icecream has been releasing these polls for about a week, now, and had specifically stated there would be a FOL vs. courtship one.

Nothing at all. I don't think that's the methodology.

No idea.

I voted for FOL in the poll. I never saw that courtship of Eddie show... sounds stupid...

Thanks for your vote, Wawwie!

I also never saw of TCOEF, but it lasted three seasons, so someone was watching, back then.

It starred Bill Bixby (yeah, that Bill Bixby), so now I'm imagining that Eddie's father gets a little angry in each episode, and we won't like it when he gets angry.

It just seems like an odd poll. But, I voted (I'm not telling for which ).

I have been running a tournament of my top 80 sitcoms on the General Sitcoms board. With seeds #1 vs. #80, #2 vs. #79, etc. Once the 2nd round starts the remaining shows will be re-seeded from 1-40.

I see what's happened now. The One Day at a Time folks have launched a campaign against us! We've been betrayed by our own roommates... er, studiomates!

It seems they're afraid of a little competition.

When One Day At A Time goes up against Holmes and Yoyo, feel free to strike back.

Actually 10-9 - Courtship of Eddies's Father leading!

I wasn't the 10th vote either , when I voted both shows/vote counts were much lower!

It wasn't stupid!! It was a very cute show that I enjoyed very much when I was in around the 1rst to 3rd grades!

I think it was actually based on a movie. It was about a widowed/bachelor Father raising a little boy with the help of a Japanese housekeeper, and there was also a family friend named Norman in the show. It was really cute and funny!

Two very different shows, The Facts of life and The courtship of Eddie's Father, like comparing apples and oranges! But to pick one I went with Eddie's father because I sincerely enjoyed it over Facts of Life!

So you and any one else can bully me all you want over this, I don't really care ! Because how can you judge or comment on a show you never even seen ? I /and I guess the 9 other people who voted Eddie's Father are older folks and have actually seen the show and remember it and liked it!!

No worries! Lorimar and 80s Dude and others have yet to cast their votes. And Mrs. Livingston may be our ace in the hole...

Those older folks would probably clutch their pearls if they saw the Facts of Life.
