Default If everyone's so bored...

This is just a suggestion...seriously I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade here....but if everyone is so bored (as evidenced by the many pages long "random" posts (Why Not Jr. and Pointless Post Who Else is Bored)....

....why don't you try coming up with something a little more interesting to post to get some good conversation going on here again?

Frankly I have found the board a little bit boring myself lately. I only have time to come here about ever other day. The times when I can come once a day are a luxury and are few and far between. As such, it is impossible to keep up these huuuuuge random posts of nothingness, when you leave for one day and 50 more pages have been added.

I'll get the ball rolling with a poll I'm gonna post in just a few minutes. But maybe people could post brainteasers again like we used to. Or think of some controversial subject we can all argue about or SOMETHING!

Cool Funny you should mention that.

That's a good point Bootsy. I've been checking in less and less myself for the same reasons that you've stated. I don't exactly know what to do about it though, because I've posted controversial subjects and have taken part in a few, and although some of our members of the board have had fun with them, others have told me that I'm too serious (perish the thought) and that this board is for kiddies, or something to that effect. So I took that to mean that only "what is your favorite color" type threads is what is wanted on the board. I hope that isn't the case. We'll see.

I agree with what you said, Bootsy. I've been finding myself visiting the Chit-Chat Board less and less and I think you described why pretty well. Hopefully more interesting topics will pick back up soon.

Of course I'm still coming here way too much, I really have to cut back. Three weeks to read Moby...ugh.

I agree with everything that has been said so far in this topic. I'm like KS, I think it was pretty much described why in the previous posts too.

How's Moby going so far, KS? It will probably take 3 weeks to read it. I love to read, and if the book is interesting enough- I can finish it pretty fast, but Moby is just one of those books that seems like its torture to get through the halfway mark of the book.

Jenny, unfortunately the book is not going anywhere. It has been sitting on my dresses for two weeks now. Everytime I go to read it I read that first paragraph and just close the book. It looks so incredibly boring and everyone who has started it tells me just how boring it is. Procrastinating is something I do well, especially in the summer.
I was proud of myself that I finished Gatsby so soon, but 515pgs worth of Moby is gonna be the end of me...

Ouch....Hey, I just thought of something. Have you tried this site? www.sparknotes.com They may have some notes over Moby? That site really saved my butt when I had to read 'The Odyssey' for Mythology.

Here's some of the search results for Moby Dick at sparknotes.com:

well i left for five days and there was a page and a half of new posts since I had last gotten on so i wouldnt exactly call this board slow... it only seems slow when you come here every other hour. which is what i do often lol. but yah most of the topics were dumb and probably only read like 6 of them or so.

Thanks for the site suggestion, Jenny. I will be sure to check it out! I have to read 'The Odyssey' along with three other mythology type books this school year. I am not looking forward to it but hopefully this site can help. Thanks once again!

Ks,

Your welcome. You have to read 'The Odyssey' too? That sucks. Hopefully, sparknotes will help you on both of those books. Good Luck
