The Beverly Hillbillies aired 9 seasons on CBS from 1962-1971. Starring Buddy Ebsen as Jed Clampett, a poor man who could barely keep his family fed. But then he struck lucrative oil that made him a millionaire. Jed moved his family to a Beverly Hills mansion next door to their banker and his disgusted wife. The Clampetts were not smart and naive to how the world worked. Irene Ryan played feisty Granny Moses, Donna Douglas played Jed's animal whisperer daughter Elly May Clampett and Max Baer Jr. played his giant nephew Jethro Bodine who was still in the 5th grade. Also starring Raymond Bailey as the banker Milburn Drysdale and Nancy Kulp as his secretary Jane Hathaway. Bea Benaderet recurred in the first season as Jed's sister and Jethro's mother Pearl Bodine before she left to star in Petticoat Junction from the same creator.
Everybody Loves Raymond aired 9 seasons on CBS from 1996-2005. It started out on lowly Friday nights, then eventually became the hit anchor of Monday nights. Whiny Ray Romano starred as Ray Barone, a sportswriter who moved his family across the street from his parents. A great supporting cast starred Doris Roberts as his meddling mother Marie, Peter Boyle as his crude father Frank, hulk sized Brad Garrett as his cop brother Robert, and Patricia Heaton as his wife Debra who was always butting heads with Marie. Monica Horan later joined the cast as Robert's girlfriend then wife Amy MacDougall. Ray and Debra had three kids that were basically window dressing, all the action centered on the adults. |

This is another tough one, but Raymond has always been one of my favorites. Never saw the original run, only the reruns.

I chose Raymond. The Beverly Hillbillies is one of the few sixties sitcoms that I just don't care for. I've tried getting into it but I just can't.
