Most Common Fear in Each State

I'm a little shocked with water being the fear for Michigan, considering it is "the Great Lakes State". Although I understand same for Louisiana.

Of all the fears listed, I would say (other people's) blood would be at the top of my list.

Interesting that "Police" is not listed for any state.

Fear of water makes sense for Michigan having "The Great Lakes,". Fear of drowning...

Normally, when you have frequent exposure to a threat, it tends to become normalized? Yeah, the Great Lakes are "there" but there isn't the flood threat like the Mississippi might be to New Orleans...so I would think they would get used to it.

In G. Gordon Liddy's autobiography "Will" he recounts how he as a child climbed up into a tree during a thunderstorm, and tied himself to a tree trunk, to get over his fear of thunder and lightening.....stuff like that.

40 years ago, I worked as a water proofer on the outside of highrise office buildings, consequently I'm very tolerant of heights.....But I wasn't born that way. I had to become acclimated.

Now, as a 60+ year old man, I probably couldn't do that. But I amuse myself from time to time when I for example find a 2x4 laying on the ground, and walk it like a tightrope, imagining it's 400 feet off the ground.

I do live in AZ. I do have a fear of heights only when I'm on a ladder or standing by a ledge at the Grand Canyon or driving through Salt River Canyon.
