Default Was Fonzie a coward?

Do you think Fonzie was a coward pretending to be the strong guy?

I don't understand why he hung around with Richie, Potsie and Ralph instead of hanging with other tough guys.

Didn't Fonzie hang out with Mr. and Mrs. Cunningham?

Those two were tough guys

his backstory is that he was tough but the show capitalized on him being more ... human.

Fantastic actor, but it seems odd when you see him do a scene where he is about to fight and gets into an odd fighting stance. Look at the episode 5.22 My Favourite Orkan when Fonzie goes to throw a punch at Mork and Mork freezes him.

Not by a long shot. Ralph is the coward in the show.
