Lucy: A Character That Never Really Went Anywhere

In my opinion, the Dallas producers didn't seem to know what to do with the character of Lucy, played by Charlene Tilton. At first, she was portrayed as a "bad girl" sleeping with ranch hand Ray (who would later be revealed to be her uncle) and hanging out with friends.

Then, she became a model and ended up being kidnapped by a crazed stalker and was also in a series of doomed romances, one of which was a short-lived marriage to Mitch.

At one point, the character was written out of the show and returned a few years later, but they still didn't know what to do with her, so she left again, this time for good.

Anybody else feel that the character never amounted to much and never became a front-line role?

I love Lucy. So, to me, she did amount to a lot.
