Default How Long Did It Air On TVLAND?

I believe it was an "original" program, and it ran in 1996, so did it stop airing in 1998 (when most of the original programming stopped)?

Any help would be appreciated, as would the timeslots it may have held, I'm working on a comprehensive list of all the shows that have aired on TVLand from 1996 - Present, and their respective timeslots. It's a lot of work, lol, but...

It stopped airing in 1998, I believe. As far as I know it is currently not airing on any TV station.

It left TV Land on January 1, 1998.

TV Land aired the original B&W pilot episode of Petticoat Junction that day.

Family Affair joined TV Land that same day.

Mister Ed DID run through April of 1998. In March 1998 when My Three Sons came on, Ed was nelegated to an early morning slot, and then left. Same for That Girl. Addams Family was only seen on weekends until it left in April 1998.

boechsner, where did you read that Ed left TVL on January 1 1998? I've got schedules from a satellite guide that have it listed through April 1998. It's not that I don't believe, I'm just curious because then my guides could be wrong...

visit http://www.freewebs.com/tvlandarchives/tvland.html it's my TV Land schedule's website. Not nearly complete and still needs a ton of updating, but it has a lot of schedules.

Okay, this is strictly from memory. In September of 1997, we first got cable, Direct TV. Mister Ed and The Addams Family were on in evening timeslots, The Addams Family at 6:00 followed by Mister Ed at 6:30. In November, The Munsters came to TV Land. Then December came, and they began advertsing for the arrival of Family Affair and I Dream of Jeannie, both which came early in 1998. Family Affair arrived on January 1st, that is for sure. When January 1st came around, some of the original TV Land programming was cut back, mainly Mister Ed and The Addams Family. The Munsters was also cut, even though it only been on for only two months.

Now, I'm pretty sure all three shows left in January. However, it makes sense for them to air until April, perhaps co-inciding with a two-year contract? The Munsters left with them, that is for sure. I just don't recall seeing any of these three shows past January of 1998. I think I should remember, since they are favorites of mine, and how dissapointed I was with them leaving, just shortly after getting cable. I do recall seeing the commercials where TV Land announced that Mister Ed was leaving. Who knows, I could be off a couple months. It's possible.

What timeslots do you have listed for these shows from January-April of 1998? What lineups do you have of TV Land?

In January and February 1998 The Munsters at 9am, The Addams Family at 9:30am, Mister Ed at 10am, That Girl at Noon, Family Affair at 12:30pm, The Munsters at 7:30pm, Family Affair at 8:30pm, I Dream of Jeannie at 9pm, Family Affair at 12:30am, I Dream of Jeannie at 1am, Mister Ed at 4am.

In March 1998 The Munsters airings actually increased. My Three Sons was added and Twice as Nice debuts. 9-10am The Munters, 10-11am Family Affair, 11-12am/pm My Three Sons, 12-1pm Petticoat Junction. 7:30pm The Munsters, 8:30pm Family Affair, 9:00pm I Dream of Jeannie, 9:30pm My Three Sons, 12:30am Family Affair, 1am I Dream of Jeannie, 1:30am My Three Sons, 4am Mister Ed, 4:30am That Girl. The Addams Family only aired Saturday and Sundays at 7:00pm. April 1998 was the same.

In May 1998, 8-9am The Munsters, 9-10am I Dream of Jeannie, 10-11am Family Affair, 11-12 My Three Sons, 12-1pm Petticoat Junction. 6:30pm The Munsters, 7:00pm I Dream of Jeannie, 7:30pm Petticoat Junction. 8:00pm My Three Sons, 8:30pm Family Affair, 9:00pm Sanford and Son, 12am My Three Sons, 12:30am Family Affair, 1am Sanford and Son. The 4am hour was replaced with Hill Street Blues.

The Munsters left (finishing off, apparently, their Nick @ Nite contract) after May and in June Rhoda replaced it at 8-9am.

Well, I wasn't trying to start anything, LOL. Just trying to verify some things, I don't want to present off-information. Who knows, we both could be off, because the satellite guides are printed a month in advance, at least.

I remember them having a big thing about "aur revouir Monsior Ed" (excuse my french spelling) but that is how Nick said good bye for ever. At least they had sense enough to put it on TVLand

I don't think I ever saw its original syndicatred run... one of the few shows to ever go from syndication to network...

But did see its original 1961-65 CBS run... for some reason never got rerun until cable came along.

I may have caught a few on NICK but don't think so... Didn't have TVLAND for the first run... but definately got reaquainted after 40 years this last time around.

And as someone else posted elsewhere here... I think I like it even more now than I did way back when as a kid.... like the "adult" jokes in the old WB cartoons... more appreciation of the subtleties and "in" jokes as an adult.

I watched the show as a kid in the 60's when it was origionally on. I remember a local station showing re-runs of previous episodes back in the 60's while it was on network tv. Re-runs came on Sunday afternoons & the new eps came on at their normal time at nite. I enjoy the re-runs on TVLAND & am sorry they are taking it off...

I remember watching it in its original network run in the 60s; then I 'rediscovered" it when a local station started reruning it saturday night/sunday morning about 1969 or 70, then they moved it to saturday mornings at 9:30.
Then, I used to watch it on N@N back in 1988, when we first got cable. That was the first time I had seen it in YEARS.

If my Memory is Correct when Mr Ed came on TV Land I think it aired at 3:00 am Central Time.
