AMC Orders Another TWD Spin-off w/ Anthology Series "Tales of The Walking Dead"
"Tales of The Walking Dead" Anthology Spin-off Series Gets Greenlight at AMC
by Denise Petski October 12, 2021 AMC is further expanding "The Walking Dead" universe with "Tales of The Walking Dead", a new episodic anthology spinoff series set for AMC and AMC+. Each one-hour standalone episode of will focus on both new and established characters set in the world of the original series, which wraps its run after its current Season 11. An initial season of six episodes is expected to go into production early next year and premiere on AMC and AMC+ next summer. “The Walking Dead is a show that made television history and attracted an army of passionate and highly engaged fans,” said Dan McDermott, president of original programming for AMC Networks and AMC Studios. “We see so much potential for a wide range of rich and compelling storytelling in this world, and the episodic anthology format of Tales of the Walking Dead will give us the flexibility to entertain existing fans and also offer an entry point for new viewers, especially on streaming platforms. We have seen the appeal of this format in television classics like The Twilight Zone and, more recently, Black Mirror, and are excited to engage with fans in this new way, against the backdrop of this very unique and engrossing world.” Here's what's happening now in "The Walking Dead" universe: - "The Walking Dead" will premiere the second half of its 11th and final season in February 2022. - "Fear The Walking Dead" is airing its 7th season premiere on October 17, 2021. - "The Walking Dead: World Beyond" is currently airing its second (and final) season. - A Daryl and Carol spin-off, starring Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride is in the works, as well as feature films starring Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes. |

Anthony Edwards, Parker Posey, Terry Crews, Poppy Liu, Jillian Bell To Star in "Tales of The Walking Dead"
by Denise Petski Feb. 2, 2022 The initial cast has been announced for "Tales of the Walking Dead", AMC’s new spin-off series set in "The Walking Dead" universe. Anthony Edwards (ER), Parker Posey (Lost In Space), Terry Crews (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Poppy Liu (Dead Ringers) and Jillian Bell (Rough Night) have been tapped to star in the AMC Studios-produced episodic anthology series. Additionally, Haifaa al-Mansour (Good Lord Bird, Motherland), Deborah Kampmeier (Star Trek: Picard) and Tara Nicole Weyr (The Wilds, Bosch) have been tapped to direct one episode with series producer Michael Satrazemis set to direct three episodes. “Anthony, Jillian, Terry, Parker, and Poppy are the first wave of singular talents who will further expand the Walking Dead Universe into harrowing, hilarious, heartfelt, and horrifying new realms and we couldn’t be happier to welcome them to the family, along with these terrific directors. "Tales of The Walking Dead" Gets August Premiere Date, First-Look Photos
by Patrick Hipes June 6, 2022 AMC said Monday that the episodic anthology series "Tales of The Walking Dead", will premiere Sunday, August 14 at 9 p.m. on AMC and AMC+. The first two episodes in the series, which consists of six one-hour stand-alone episodes focused on new and established characters, will stream that same night on AMC+.
