Default Is Molly Ringwald a real redhead?

There is a debate as to whether Molly Ringwald is a real redhead. Some say she is while others says she is not a true redhead.
https://www.orlandosentinel.com/news...731-story.html

I would say Molly is a real redhead since she has red hair in her young childhood photos and her own kids had red hair when they were born (I doubt she would dye the hair of newborns red). Plus her father appeared to have some red in his hair.

I think she really is a redhead. I wonder why it was dyed brown on The Facts of Life.

Maybe it wasn't? Maybe her hair color had just progressed to brown.

Or if it was dyed, maybe it wasn't specifically for FOL. But was it dyed? Mike Lookinland's hair was so obvious in how it was dyed for early episodes of The Brady Bunch, but Molly's hair looks in FOL looks completely natural.

Research so far shows Molly is not a natural red-head. She is brunette/auburn.

"Brat Pack star Molly Ringwald is known for her red hair, but she's naturally a brunette."

https://www.closerweekly.com/posts/f...atural-118803/

"Molly Ringwald reportedly dyed her hair after an agent advised her that it was a good way to get attention in the film industry. It clearly worked — she stuck with the vibrant shade throughout her mega-stardom during the '80s."

https://www.refinery29.com/en-us/201...rities#slide-3

For redhead Molly Ringwald, the breakthrough came when she saw Nine on Broadway as a teenager. “This dancer’s hair was bright, bright red,” she told me recently. “I thought, I want to look like that. I am going to look like that.” She had once put Sun-In in her auburn hair to try to look like her blonde sister, but now she doubled down on the red, making it even fierier. It would become her signature. And she would become an icon.

And yet, everyone in Peekskill knew Blair wasn't a real blonde!

That's really weird: i always thought MOLLY looked like a red head and BLAIR like a blond! (even though apparently it's not their natural hair colour lol!)

I go by the evidence from photos. Molly definitely looks like a redhead here when she was about 3 years old. Some redheads do get darker brownish/auburn hair later.

And years later, Molly's newborn twins look like they had red hair.

I know redheads who stay bright red until they start to grey or are not old enough to grey yet. I know redheads who start to get brown or almost black hair as they became an older kid.

It's like with blond: lots of kids i know used to be blond as children, only to have really brown or black hair later on as adults.
