Thelma got engaged to Igbe and said she wanted to wait for Florida to be in a bad mood to tell her about being engaged to Igbe. GT Fans were like,"Thelma is being an IDIOT to want to wait for Florida to be in a BAD mood to tell her possibly bad News. Why not wait for Florida to be in a GOOD mood to tell her that?"
Thelma had a GOOD point ACTUALLY. Telling someone who is in a GOOD mood potentially bad news could make their good mood go sour really quickly. But telling someone who is already in a bad mood potentially bad news is WAY better than telling someone who is on a good mood potentially bad news and making them sour.... |

The fact that she knew Florida would inevitably get bummed at her getting engaged to someone who wanted to permanently take her overseas should have been a BIG clue for Thelma that this wasn't the best plan. One wonders if she'd have even brought up refusing to be part of a polygamous union had other family members not 'jokingly' mentioned that possibility in Nigeria- or would she have just married him (assuming that he'd stay monogamous)- only to be surprised when he started taking local wives that likely had been been arranged by their families for him.
