Perhaps you remember Aaron Copeland's instrumental track Hoedown? Then you might remember the classic Beef It's What's For Dinner commercials. These commercials debuted in the 90's and featured Sam Elliott doing the voiceover and continued to be one of the most popular commercials of all time. The instrumental track Hoedown that was used in the commercials also was featured in the horse riding scene of the Olsen Twins movie It Takes Two as well. I wonder why meat commercials haven't been seen on TV anymore? Because these beef commercials were popular just as the Pork The Other White Meat commercials had been. My mom was wondering the exact thing as me. With these commercials celebrating their 25th anniversary this year they should make a comeback to TV

Hi, Bestie! I liked the beef commercials. I wish they would make themagain. I hate healthy food commercials. Health food tastes bad.

Actually it was Robert Mitchum who did the first set of Beef... commercials. After he died then it may well have been Sam Elliott, I really don't know who came after Mitchum. The Robert Mitchum ones were my favorites. Just the way he said "BEEF!!" made it memorable to me and then closing out the line with "it's what's for dinnuh". That was Mitchum's unforgettable accent, on "Dinnuh" not Sam's. But I do agree Sam has a great voice too, it's Sam's great narration you hear in "The Big Lebowski".
