Fred Sanford making fun of sitting presidents
During five year run of Sanford and Son (1972 to 1977), we had three presidents in the White house (Nixon, Ford and Carter) and non of them escaped being the butt joke of Fred Sanford.
Richard Nixon missing tapes  In the episode where Fred get his donated record back from library.. Fred to Lamont: "I told you I get the records back. They should send me to Washington. If I can get the records back, I can get those tapes back too" Ford refusing to bail out NewYork city government from bankruptcy  Fred describing sunday tv monster movie... Fred:" In this movie, Gork eat NewYork city and get a Thank You note from president Ford" Jimmy Carter big teeth  In the episode where Esther adapted son say he don't believe in God.. Fred:" Telling Esther there is no god is like telling Jimmy Carter there is no tooth paste". |
