Default Life With Lucy

TV Guide says it's one of the 50 worst television shows in history. Wouldn't the judges need to have watched every television show that's ever been on the air in order to determine which 50 are the worst?

You would think they would have to watch every tv show that has been on television. I think what they did in some of the cases was get a list up of every show to date and how many seasons it lasted. Life with Lucy lasted one season right? So the people at tv guide probably put down the one seasoners and the shows that only had a couple of episodes. "This show had x amount of episodes. X amount is really a small number before they canceled it. It HAD to have been a horrible show." Stuff like that. They didn't do that with all of the shows on the list, but maybe a small precentage...

Life With Lucy didn't even last for one season. I think only 13 episodes aired.

That list is SO stupid. Now while I agree LWL was pretty bad, some of the other things on the list just SHOULDN'T have been there. I think they were taking bribes and smoking weed, hoping to make a lot of people mad.

Life With Lucy should not be on the top 50 worst shows list. It wasn't all that bad to begin with and the show was like a rehash of her other shows. It was the same old Lucy doing her usual thing, this time, at an older age. It wasn't as good as her former shows but at least it had Lucille Ball, America's Favorite Redhead, in it.

It wouldn't have been so bad if they took an alternate route as to how the show worked. First of all, i think Lucy should have had a husband, Has anyone noticed that Lucy Carmichael always dated tall handsome sexy like men with no persona? and all the not so good looking ones were insane? Cesar Romero would have been a good husband. Can anyone thing of someone who is remotely good looking and has a personality?
Also I think Lucy needed a foil. Like Mary Jane Croft or Maty Wickes or Ann Southern or even Audrey Meadows.
Lucy should have not been a junk food addict..that was more stupid than funny. She should have had some health problems like the Sophia character from the Golden Girls and some sarcasm.
They made Lucy Barker seem senile. There should have ben more beleievable plots. The thing about the Lucy characters of old time is they made the unbeleivebale beleiveable. They could have done Lucy in a hospital or something. Maybe Lucy and Curtis should have owned a restaurant, nothing too funny could happen in a hardware store. Life With Lucy was way to animated, too much like a cartoon. On the opening scene where they are all on the couch I was waiting for a giant anvil to fall. There were scenes like when Lucy went on a date with Ken somethin-or-other and when Lucy came back Margot had a chat with her about feelings (would it have killed the writers to use the word SEX?) that was touching but way too clean. And let's face it if a sitcom is too clean now a days it looses all it's comedic purpose. Another scene was when Curtis sold out to Lucy...at the end tehre was a real touching scene. That was soo ggreat it was actuall real like. The only shows that worked in that installment were The Saxophone, and The Audrey Meadowds episode.
But hey it is too late now...Gary Morton Pushed her into doing it after years of saying she couldn't top what she had. She usually got advice form Desi, it was at a very difficult time in her life because Desi was dying from cancer, and Lucy was too far gone in depression and had recently been diagnosed with all these diseases. I still have to question as to whether Gary's intesions were good or not, He did this arranging behind Lucys back with crew that did not care too much for him, I still think he was in it for the money. Lucy was in retirement pase of her life and not bringin too much of a flow in, and Gary I dont think liked that.
