Here's a different version of Mayberry RFD that might have been funnier - combining TAGS with Gomer Pyle USMC: Sgt. Carter and Gomer are released from the Marines and take the jobs of Sheriff and Deputy in Mayberry. City boy Vince would have fits trying to understand how to do his job in a slower, totally different world that doesn't react to yelling - a fish out of water, while Gomer could mess up and win -- while interacting with cousin Goober, Howard, Otis, and Aunt Bee (no Emmett or Sam!).
