Does anyone here write poetry at all as an outlet to release your emotions? If you want, post one of your poems because I would love to read it and I'm sure others would too!

Drumroll Please! *drumroll* Heeeeeeeeeere's my poem!
A Day In The Life Of Seńor McAuliffe By Caitlin B**** ((hehe, sorry folks)) I wake up in the morning and open my closet and look for a tie, a tie that my students would be most amused by. I get dressed and ready and kiss mi esposa good-bye for the day, I get ready to work and earn my week's pay. I get in my car and start the drive to work, prepared for the highway and the 5 AM traffic jerks. I have on my red wig and big black glasses, and I turn to look at the drivers reaction each time a car passes. I finally pull into the Hingham Middle School parking lot, I finish drinking the coffee that I bought. Into the building I walk and straight into my homeroom, room 129. I glance at the clock and realize I made great time. I notice the flowers on the desk for Teacher Appreciation Day and begin to think, Ah, my wife would love them! I'll just say I bought them for her! Yes, I know, I'm a fink. Soon the busses unload and the students pour in, I know that this is another day that won't be borin'. Homeroom begins and ends and the school day finally gets under way, I teach my classes, periods A-D, and then get a break, the first of the day. My break is for lunch, but today it's for lunch duty. I grab my apple and my banana, my lunch always consists of something fruity. I stand in front of the snack line, making sure that students don't cut and make the kids behind them wait for some more time. I push the trash cans around to the tables as the lunch period comes to an close, I dismiss the tables row after row. I sigh because my lunch duty for the day is done, so I head to teach my next class,F period, Oh what fun! I enter the room and stand at the door, prepared to greet each kid and try not to be a bore. I remind them that for the whole class period they must speak Espańol, to have no one speak English for the fourth term is my goal. Even though I know that that won't happen and some kids have spoken English, I still hold on to it every year as my wish. I walk around with my ears open in case I do hear someone slip up. And when I do, I smile and say, "Paga!" And they put a penny into the cup. For you see when a student speaks English in the forth term, I make them pay, It's just a penny and in the end it comes back to fund for the end-of-the-year-party. It's just a little way, to make the students get used to speaking the language, that I tried. It's time, yet again, to quiz my students. "żComo se dice....... beside?" the hands shoot up, "Oh, al lado! Al lado!" And once again I am insulted by a student, my reply, "Senorita Jocelyn, ten cuidado!" I must laugh as she ridicules me, I'm used to it. It happens everyday! But silently I think of her grade for the day, "F!" Nah, wait........ J/K! Suddenly the bell rings, "Oh no! I have talked the whole period once more!" I scramble to pass out the homework sheet and say "Adios," as the kids crowd out the door. Once that period is over, I can relax. The day at HMS is over and all done! But the day at Hingam High School has just begun. I get into my car and make the short drive to HHS. My next job is to coach some sport teams, and they are the best. They practice and they practice and I coach and I teach, Until we're worn out and would rather be sitting on the beach. I say good-bye to them as well and get ready for the drive home, I get into my car and prepare for the drive alone. I look back down at the flowers sitting on the passengers seat, I just know that my wife will see them and think I am oh so neat. I smile again and start up the car, I pull out of the lot and start to drive Pleased with myself that I got out of HMS today alive! But than I think about something and am full of sorrow, I MUST FACE THOSE KIDS AGAIN TOMORROW! And that is it, a day in the life of Kevin McAuliffe, Spanish teacher extraordinaire! Oh yeah did I mention, I also have no hair! ((It was written for english class and we had to write a poem from another person's point of view. And everything in thats true, the wig, the glasses, the plant, no hair... and every damn day his lunch is a apple and a bananna! I swear to God. Ok....... soooo, you like?)) |

I used to write poems in the 5th grade. My mother found them one day when she was spying on me and threw them away because they were to depressing. Now I don't write poems anymore just normal stories and keep them on my computer so my mother can't throw them away.
