The Honeymooners Specials: A Christmas Carol on DVD
In 1977, Jackie Gleason, Audrey Meadows, Art Carney and Jane Kean reunited for the second of four hour-long specials representing the final performances of their classic Honeymooners characters. Ralph enlists Alice, Ed and Trixie to perform with him on stage after he agrees to supervise and star in the annual office holiday fund-raiser for a charity chosen by his boss' wife.  Ralph ends up rewriting and reimagining Charles Dickens' dramatic classic A Christmas Carol with comedic results when Ed serves as the inexperienced director.

GREAT!!!!!! It’s just too bad that the Gleason family can’t release The Incredible World of Ed Norton as a bonus feature.

But nevertheless this is good news.

Interesting that they used the exact same "Extras" from the Color Honeymooners 4th Collection found on Disc 3. Too bad they couldn't come up with something different for extra's that hasn't already been released. Regardless, excited to get this properly on DVD.

Happy to report the special is fully intact (49:26 runtime), undedited, and the transfer is spotless with excellent color balance and no audio issues. English subtitles available for the main feature only.

The extras are the same extras from a previous release of another special, with just the Women's Lib sketch (24:51 runtime including show intro) from that special. You get the opening credits, still no opening monologue, and the second half hour is still cut off. Would've been great to get the full show this time.

Now, what about releasing the unedited Life Upon the Wicked Stage and Incredible World of Ed Norton.. Mmmm?

You don't have to buy them. You can now stream them for free on TUBI. They have 3 color specials from 1977 that you can watch at any time. The titles are: "Christmas Special", "Second Honeymoon", and "Valentine Special" and they are all free!
