I was watching a retrospective on I Love Lucy and they showed a clip of Ricky singing the song with the lyrics "I love Lucy and she loves me, we're as happy as two can be...." Anyways, I was wanting some information on this.
Can you tell me the full lyrics? Does anyone know from when in the show's run this clip is from? Finally, is this the only time we are shown or hear the lyrics? Or are there alternate versions of the title music where the lyrics are sung. Basically, what I want to know is if when the show was originally on the air if the audience had known the theme song for a long while and were maybe surprised to here Ricky singing lyrics to it, or was it something they always knew had lyrics to? Thanks!! |

The full lyrics were sung in the episode "Lucy's Last Birthday", Ricky wrote the song as a birthday present to Lucy. I think that the words were written for that episode, so i don't think that people knew that it had words until that episode, but i could be wrong. you can download the song w/ lyrics if you want to know all the words. you may even be able to find it on a lucy website! hope i helped!
