I thought they kept bumping into each other.

As for her being a witch, I thought at first he didn't believe it, but she proved it with some hocus pocus.

And in a later episode (We're in for a Bad Spell) Samantha finds Darrin's name in Aunt Clara's book of "spellees" and tells Darrin that it reads that he is "going to marry a witch and live happily ever after." He asks her if it really says that and Samantha admits it didn't but she's a witch so she knows it's "true."

This would seem to suggest they were fated to meet because of a spell. And maybe it mentioned the Darrin the Bold curse...and the fact that his appearance and temperament would totally change but none of his friends and family would notice...Mrs. Kravitz and Louise Tate must have been under that same spell...
