Whether it was cheapness, being overly polite, people disliking him, whatever. Those were the episodes that took the show to another level and it soared. Otherwise it was a good show, on those it was memorable and great. And while everyone else was very good, it was York who was great.

I agree that the best episodes revolved around DY's Darrin and spells. His reactions we so animated and funny. The final years were nothing like this for Derwood (Darrin). The character became so bland. However, I still enjoy the later seasons also but they have a different feel to them.

Most definitely. Few years back I bought the mostly Endora casting a spell on Darin (only Dick York) individual episodes. They tower over the rest of the series.

My favorite in this vein is "Junior Executive" (Darrin is changed into Billy Mumy with adult mind - Billy's mimickry of Dick York is awesome!)
