Cabin Boy (1994) TV Version with extra footage - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Hello,
So I came across a post from 2002 on alt video tape trading regarding a TV Version of Cabin Boy (1994) with extra scenes which aired on WB. Anyone ever seen this?

From the post:

I've been meaning to find the time in the last 5 years to sit down and watch
the original release of Cabin Boy while simultaneously watching the version
that was aired on the WB years ago. I just did .....and here are the additional
scenes from the WB version:

1.) Nathaniel insults a fellow classmate after the choir segment at the
beginning. The classmate slaps Nathaniel to the ground. Chris screams for a
constable.

2.) Extended insult by Nathaniel towards classmate who drops his derby during
class presentation.

3.)Nathaniel presents the correct way to tip a derby then calls the class
dim-witted sheep.

4.)extended dialogue between Nathaniel and Capt. Greybar when Greybar wakes up
in bed with him.

5.)When Nathaniel thinks he is aboard a theme ship..he complients Greybar
who then punches him in the stomach.(I have an early draft of the script and
Nathaniel gets hit quite a bit)

6.) extended dialogue between Nathaniel and Skunk( Brian Doyle Murray) when
Nathaniel tries to barter his way off the ship.( they added this but cut out
the scene with Bbig Teddy threatening to shove his socks down Nathaniels
throat and make him swallow them like an aspirin)

7.) Scene of the crew talking about Tang.

8.)Scene of Big Teddy talking about dating Siamese twins.

9.) Scene o fKenny ( Andy Richter) telling Nathaniel about living on a mule
farm. "Ya ever had mule meat? it tastes good if you soak it in milk."

10.) Skunk comments that the wooden figurehead has a cold .ricki lake
sneezes.

11.) Nathaniel talks to himself while he puts on Kenny's clothing.

12.)after Nathaniel chops his first fish the crew walks by and he says how much
he enjoyed it.

13.) extended dialogue by Skunk talking about patch on the hull

14.)After serving the fish stick kitties asks where the Cpt is....Skunk tells
him that he's probably waiting for him topside.

15.) After the captain sings his song he asks Nathaniel about being a fancy
lad. Nathaniel tells Greybar he is sweet as sugar.

16.)Nathaniel washes dishes,says prayers,sings, Big Teddy hits him with a bat.

17.)additional dialogue between Nathaniel and Trina after Nathaniel pulls her
on the boat. They introduce theirselves...she threatens to shoot him if she had
a gun.

18.)Paps offers Trina a horsey-ride.

19.) additional dialogue by Greybar about taking Trina to Maryland..Trina
starts a fight with Greybar.

20.)extended dialogue by Skunk about the boat being rammed by Chocki and
furthur explanation of his idea of slingshotting the fake nathaniel into the
sea.Nathhaniel asks Skunk "why must you hide your emotions,Mr. Macho?" after
he kisses him.

21.)Nathaniel looks for Trina...a beer can drops ...he climbs up the
mast....brief dialogue before he climbs in.

22.)Calli ask a different first question when she tells him to answer the 3
Riddles of the Island.actually she asks only 2 questions in the original
release.

23.) Additional dialogue by Skunk to Nathaniel when they say goodbye in
"Hawiee".

That's it ...I think I remember someone(.it may have even been me)
saying the WB version had an extra 18 mins. WB padded it so that a 75 min.
film would fit into a 120 mn. time slot. The scenes last anywhere between 5
seconds to a couple of minutes.

I've seen the original film while cheesy today, it's one of Chris Elliot's best next to his Get a Life series.

This same version used to air on Comedy Central in the late 90's.

Yeah I remember seeing this version a few times. Not sure if anyone ever recorded it. I know that I didn't.

I don't know how to tell one copy from the next but, back when I worked at a video rental store, we had an advanced screener cassette that had, IIRC, the first three of those above mentioned scenes included. The others don't seem familiar at all.

A "complete" version of this picture would be really awesome!
