Default Steve's Parents Were Never On The Show: Who Could Have Been Cast As His Parents?

I was watching the show the other day (the episode where Carl is BBQ'ing in his backyard and gets into a fight with Mr Urkel with Mr Urkel subsequently throwing Carl into his compost heap) and wonder why Steve's parents never made an appearance on the series.

Mr & Mrs Urkel (Dr. Herb Urkel & Diane 'Roberta' Urkel) were mentioned a lot but never shown on the tv screen. We did get to hear Steve's mother's voice on one episode 'Pulling Teeth' (season 04/episode 20) .

We met Steve's cousin Myrtle (played by Jaleel). His uncle Big Daddy (played by Reginald). His cousin Cornelius aka Original Gangsta Dawg (played by Jaleel). His Aunt Oona (played by Donna Summer).

My question is this who do you think should have, could have, been cast as Steve's parents on the show? Mr Urkel is mention as being a small man when he fights Carl so the actor would have to have been relatively short with a slight body build.

I was thinking the 5'5 Tommy Davidson (who would have been just over 30 years old at the time and might need some make up in order to look a bit older) as Mr Urkel and 5'1 Chip Fields (who would have been just over 40 years of age at the time) as Mrs Urkel.

Charles Robinson who played Mac from Night Court could've been written in as Mr. Urkel when Night Court ended in 1992, may he rest in peace now. Alaina Reed Hall who brought Olivia to life on Sesame Street until 1992 could've been Mrs. Urkel, may she rest in peace too.

God bless you and their families always!!!

Holly

P.S. To me, they could've been written in when Steve first started turning into Stephan which was in 1993 I believe.

Yes, Steve and his parents lived right next door to the Winslow family...

Steve Urkel was introduced as The Winslow's pesky, annoying next door neighbor https://familymatters.fandom.com/wiki/Steve_Urkel
