I think that this was one of the major contributions that Unsolved Mysteries gave to society was to show how easy you can get put in jail for something that you didn't do. I have nothing but the upmost respect for law enforcement but my god the way that they screwed over so many folks on some of the Unsolved Mysteries segments was horrible.

The Johnny Lee Wilson segment was pretty infuriating in how the police had a narrative (despite witness statements disproving it) and they were going to stick with it, break protocol and force him into a confession no matter what. Never mind the fact that Wilson's mental capacity kept him from understanding the majority of their conversations.
