Compare Vic's first season appearance to the last season. He must've gained close to 40-50lbs during the 9 year run of the show. I wonder if this had anything to do with his heart condition and death in 1990?

For me, he played one of the most memorable Star Trek guest star characters: "Jo Jo Krako" in the episode: "A Piece Of The Action"

I have a friend in Cali who took a tour of the MASH and Love Boat sets back in 1983. She met Vic Tayback on the set of the Love Boat and told me he was one of the nicest, most pleasant people she'd ever met... nothing at all like the Mel character. She also met Fred Grandy and said he had a big ego and was hitting on her - lol
