Why did Supermarket Sweep move to PAX after being on Lifetime? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

One thing I have never figured out is why Supermarket Sweep decided to move to PAX after so long on Lifetime? Was it because Lifetime decided to retire game shows and focus on other shows? Or was it because PAX decided to bring Supermarket Sweep with new seasons and exciting changes with this new move? I remember when I found out when Supermarket Sweep moved to PAX when Mom and I used to see Eight Is Enough on there and sure enough there was Supermarket Sweep and my mom thought they were reruns of the Lifetime version but they were new episodes. Did Supermarket Sweep become a PAX exclusive game show after it ended it's Lifetime run?

Lifetime canceled the show in 1995, and PAX brought it back in 2000. So the PAX version was essentially a revival.

The PAX version of Supermarket Sweep was a revival for the show? I didn't even know that and I wonder what gave PAX the idea to revive Supermarket Sweep? The only difference I saw between the Lifetime version and the PAX version was the PAX version had new mini games and themed weeks
