Tug of Words: Samantha Harris replaces Ahmad Rashad as Host in Season 2 - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

The game play on this sounds good. But I might have preferred Ahmad Rashad's wife Phylicia, would be interesting to see her host a game show.

Tug of Words will air weekdays at 4:30PM starting November 8. Too bad it isn't an hour later, then I could watch Tug of Words and People Puzzler back-to-back.

Tug of Words has solid gameplay, worth watching more of but not on the level of People Puzzler.

I saw the first few minutes of Tug Of Words on the GSN app this morning and this game looks amazing and has a lot of promise but from what the intro clip at the beginning shows of the bonus round it seems odd to have an actual version of tug of war complete with the rope and when I saw it it did seem cute but doesn't work and a better bonus round could've been nice for Tug Of Words. But boy does Ahmad Rashad look handsome and for a Comeback Kid he sure still has his game show hosting skills well since he hosted Caesar's Challenge in 1993. When I first saw Ahmad Rashad make his entrance he reminded me so much of T'Challa from Marvel's Black Panther but Ahmad does make a decent host for Tug Of Words. But I think they should've made the top prize $50,000 rather than $10,000 and the red flag that each team has looks like the flag seen in the no longer existing Mexican restaurant chain Pancho's. So while I think this game may do very well for GSN Tug Of Words could use improvement

Today's blog announced that Samantha Harris will be the new host of Tug of Words in season 2. Poor Ahmad Rashad wasn't even mentioned as the previous host.

When it comes to game shows especially hit game shows that become such a big hit due to the original host of the game show it is because the host has personality and has to be very witty and talented to make the show a huge hit. Game Show Network has always been known for sticking top celebrity talent in it's shows to host them but this host switch for Tug Of Words Season 2 seems kind of surprising because when Tug Of Words debuted on Game Show Network last year it was Ahmad Rashad's return as a Comeback Kid to game shows after last seen hosting Caesar's Challenge on NBC in 1993 and so why I think Ahmad Rashad left Tug Of Words was due to money and when Game Show Network tried to offer Ahmad more money and a bigger contract Ahmad refused and left. Because this thing with replacing game show stars when the show is doing so well in ratings seems to be a huge habit Game Show Network has done since they were known as GSN. If you recall when GSN debuted a revival of The Newlywed Game Carnie Wilson was the original host and she became one of GSN's top stars but then when The Newlywed Game was renewed for another season GSN replaced Carnie Wilson with Sherri Shepherd and after that the show wasn't the same thing anymore and was cancelled and then GSN did the same thing to Brooke Burns and Mark Labbett when The Chase was on and it was a smash hit on GSN for years and was one of their most popular game shows until Mark Labbett and Brooke Burns demanded higher salaries but when GSN refused to give them more money for The Chase the show was also cancelled. What I think will happen with Tug Of Words is that now that Samantha Harris is the new star of the show is that the ratings will drop and Tug Of Words will be soon cancelled but Ahmad Rashad should've asked Game Show Network for a reason why he wasn't gonna host Tug Of Words anymore. There must be some reason behind it?
