I'd say Larry looks like his mom ...

I can go along with that. In addition, I've always wondered what Larry's often spoken of, but never seen, sister looked like. Perhaps if we knew what a teenage Madge Blake looked like......
She seems to be afflicted with the Abe Vigoda effect, in where people seemingly looked like a late-middle aged person all their lives.

Mrs Woods (Jean Vander Pyl), and Penny (Karen Sue Trent) were a good pairing.

This is an interesting topic and one that I've thought about before. I don't think the Cleavers were cast based on physical resemblances, because on the surface there is little resemblance between Jerry, Tony, and Barbara and Hugh. HOWEVER, I have to say that as the show progresses and Tony Dow matures, he does sort of come to resemble Hugh Beaumont a little bit - something about the profile and the way his hair is combed. Likewise, you can believe that Jerry is the son of Barbara's character, as they both have blue eyes and a similar head shape. So, while there is no obvious physical resemblance, you sort of come to believe in them as a family.
I agree completely about Larry looking like his mother. That was a clever casting choice. On FATHER KNOWS BEST, it strikes me that the kids (Bud, Kathy and "Princess") must have deliberately been cast for physical resemblances and they seem convincing as siblings and as children of Robert Young and Jane Wyatt. |

Actually, I think Beaver slightly resembled Ward and Wally slightly resembled June (especially when he had bleach streaks in the early years when Mr. Dow was swimming so much).
