(I think) it's a ******-ass name...I prefer The Cleveland Spiders since that name has history!

I don't like the new name either, Guardian sounds more like the name of a newspaper.

The Washington Redskins and the Cleveland Indians changed their names, how about the Chicago Blackhawks? Will they also change their name or stay as the Blackhawks?

My condolences to you, and the rest of your fanbase. I was hoping they would select a distinctly Euro name, such as the Teutonics, or Norsemen. Just to satire the chronic complainers.

Redskins name was a bit offensive. But there was nothing wrong with Indians. Yes, I know Native American in now the politically correct term. The name Indians was chosen to honor them, not ridicule them. Indians owner Paul Dolan didn't even have the courage to make the announcement. He had Forrest Gump do it. No, the Blackhawks, Braves, Chiefs, Seminoles, etc. are not changing their names.

I agree there is nothing wrong with the name Indians and they shouldn't have changed it. Good to know if the Blackhawks, Braves, and Chiefs have no plans to change their names.

I also think this is a cash-grab name so if The Cleveland Guardians...a giant IF...they can sell shirts saying "Let's Guard The Title"!
