Ever since the debut of The Lego Movie I noticed that the name Emmett has become very popular due to the character Emmet Brickowski and I would like to know more about the name Emmett. Before The Lego Movie came out the only Emmett I knew was NFL's Emmett Smith. I also have seen Emmett spelled with one T like The Lego Movie character spells his name. Is Emmett now a hugely popular name for boys now?

Emmett was one of Andy Griffith's most unpopular characters. There was also an Emmett on Switched at Birth.

Who can forget Jim Henson's Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas. I would watch that every year. Otters are my favorite animal.
