Default Skippy Dies?

One of my friends told me tonight, while we were playing tv trivia at a bar, that in an episode of Family Ties, Skippy gets killed in a car crash. I just kinda agreed with him, since he was drunk and it was just easier, but I don't remember this happening. I watched most of the episodes during the first run, but I'm not an expert. I'm assuming this is one of those "urban legend" type rumors that gets started about certain shows...does anyone know anything about this?

Maybe he was confused with the episode "My Name Is Alex Keaton", where Alex's friend Greg is the one that happens to.

Mrs. Garret? I think so. She was on the FOL Reunion Movie. Only she's real old looking and her eyes bulge out 'n stuff.

Thumbs down Skippy, skippy, skippy

My my my. If Skippy wasn't the loopiest neighbor in TV Land, i don't know who is. Well, in my opinion, Skippy was The "Family Ties" equivalent to that other quintessential annoying neighbor, STEVE URKEL.

I mean, It seems like he and Steve have a LOT in common because they're so much alike.

1- Both are constantly bugging main families (Skippy- the Keatons; Steve- thw Winslows)

2- Had cool friends (Skippy- Alex, of all people; Steve- the entire Winslow clan)

3- Major crushes on main girls (Skippy- Mallory; Steve- Laura)

4- Both had skewed ways of life (only Steve Urkel actually helped out some of the Winslows with his advice)

5- And CLUMSY!!!

I swear, I guess you wonder where they came up with the "Family Matters" concept, wacky neighbors, serious problems and all. Hell, even the show title is almost the same but I digress.

But anyway, I think Skippy was the kind of comic relief that "Family Ties" needed, because many shows need that annoying neighbor-we-care-about concept.

I thought Steve Urkel and Skippy seemed alot alike, too. It was one of the first things I noticed about Family Ties when I first saw it. You'd think people couldn't think of original thought up characters anymore!
