Default Independence Day

Today marks the 245th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence of the United States of America. The United States was the first and remains the only nation founded on ideas rather than ethnicity:

I'm having a Sad Independence Day...not only The Cleveland Idiots lost, but I was invited to a cookout and my ride cancelled on me...I even made some food for the event! I couldn't go since I have no car.

That does it...I'm getting a damn car!

Wait till you see the price of used cars. Insanely high right now due to the chip shortage for new cars.

Cars you'd expect to pay $4-5K for are like $8-9K. It is absolutely nuts.

10 year old car in top condition? $12-14K

I'm sorry you had to miss it Mr.Cleveland ! Couldn't you have taken an Uber or Taxi over? It's 7:30 right now your time ( or 6:30 ? , not sure if you are on Eastern or Central time) ?anyway it's not that late, maybe you could call over there and someone could come and pick you up ? I mean you made food and all for it !

Quiet one here, we are just grilling some hotdogs, potato salad and beer, just the Hub and I ! Than it will get very loud and wild with the fireworks later ! We can watch the pretty legal ones off in the distance from our porch which is cool , but the illegal really loud ones are annoying and endless , scares pets and is a fire hazard ! Not really looking forward to that !

Had a great time yesterday at a neighborhood barbecue. It was wonderful to reconnect with old friends and meet the new folks who moved in during the pandemic.
